David Haidle - Fine Artist, Illustrator, Graphic Designer
With a BFA degree in fine art, in 1973 I launched out into the deep by faith. I worked full time as a painter/printmaker and sold my work in galleries and juried exhibitions as well as through private commissions. Then, in 1987, God orchestrated a radical shift from 15 years of fine art to a totally new direction. I partnered with Helen creating picture books for children.
With no prior experience, our first picture book, He is My Shepherd - Psalm 23 took nearly a year to complete. We had a lot to learn about writing, illustration, and the book publishing industry.
By 2006 we had acquired a great deal of knowledge and practical experience in book publishing. Advancing technology enabled us to self-publish our ideas. Under “Seed Faith Books”, and later “Heart Gifts”, we published thousands of pocket books, booklets, picture books, big books, and lastly, nearly two million Christmas cards for prison/jail inmates.
David is an award-winning painter and printmaker whose artwork is exhibited in public and private collections. He has illustrated twelve children’s picture books and received two C.S. Lewis Silver Medals, one C.S. Lewis Noteworthy Award, and one Gold Medallion Nomination. He and his wife Helen live in the Portland, Oregon area.
Our publishing team includes our dear beloved partners, Tim and Amber Tomlinson. None of our self-published endeavors would be possible without their expert oversight as they facilitate all the manufacturing and print production for every one of our projects, including the yearly Christmas cards. For the past three years, Tim and Amber have also organized and completed the labeling and mailing of over 300,000 boxes each year.

Helen Haidle - Author, Speaker
Helen Haidle is a Lutheran deaconess/Christian Education Director, conference speaker, and award-winning author of over 50 books.
“The idea to write books for young children started when my own children were little and began to learn Scripture. They memorized Psalm 23 and other Scriptures, but often didn’t comprehend the meaning or value of what the verses meant. I didn’t see many products on the market that filled a child’s need for more understanding of Who God was,” says Helen.
In 1997, Helen received the Mount Hermon Pacesetter Award for the total volume of books and magazine articles she had published during 1996-1997. Sales of Helen’s books have topped one and a half million. Three of her books received CBA Silver Medallion Awards and she has been the recipient of two C.S. Lewis Silver Medals and one C.S. Lewis Noteworthy Award.
An accomplished speaker, Helen, together with her children, has spoken at over 250 grade schools encouraging students to write and illustrate their own books. She has also spoken at conferences for writers, librarians, women, and Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS).
Helen has participated in numerous book projects with her husband, David, and also with her son and daughter who are professional artists.
