Seeds of Hope, Peace, Love, Forgiveness, and the invitation to receive all that God promises to bestow on everyone are now being “planted” in the hearts and minds of men and women in lock-down behind bars.
Please realize the incredible significance of this time when no worship services can be held and NO ONE can visit the prisons---no family or friends, no volunteers to work with chaplains, and sometimes not even the chaplains themselves. Yet WE have been given the opportunity at this time to “visit” Jesus in prison with these Christmas cards.
Never underestimate the power of one small “seed.” The “seed” of God’s Word never returns to Him without fulfilling the purpose for which He has sent it. Sending out Christmas cards to inmates was God’s idea, not ours. It was all especially prepared for such a time as this.
As Chaplain Aaron in Kentucky told us, “You have no idea how much your cards mean to the inmates, especially this year when they are so isolated. For one thing, these beautiful high-quality cards remind the men that someone is thinking about them! It means a lot to them to send out a Christmas greeting on a card rather than on a folded up piece of notebook paper.”
The chaplain at San Quentin prison in California stated, “You never know how these lovely cards can impact and soften stony hearts. Realize that no one ever ‘gives’ anything to inmates. Receiving these cards has been a real highlight for our inmates these past two years!”
If you have not already done so, please consider giving a contribution towards the distribution of 325 cases of 1000 cards and envelopes in each case. Special discounted shipping costs for shipping from overseas, plus trucking two pallets of cards, plus UPS charges total over $10,700. (Approximately $5,000 has already been donated.)
We estimate that 325,000 cards will touch the hearts and minds of 850,000 - 1,000,000 people.
